About me?
It always feels a little weird to write about yourself. But, I’ll give it a try…
First and foremost, I’m father to two wonderful girls, Danilyn (6) and Maya (3), and married to an awesome lady, Jeannie. We live in NE Dallas and I couldn’t be happier.
From a professional standpoint, I originally started off my career back in 1997 for a company called AudioNet (later Broadcast.com, later sold to Yahoo!), Mark Cuban’s company. That was back when people would ask what I did and I had to first explain what the internet was and then explain what we did.
Later, I went on to work for various companies: BlueCross BlueShield, JPMorganChase Bank, Match, and Telligent.
At Telligent I was a co-founder and CTO, and helped to pioneer into the social media space, with our products Community Server, Evolution and Harvest. My personal favorite was the analytics space where I created Harvest before there was even such as a thing as “Social Media Monitoring”.
You can find me in a few places:
- Twitter (http://twitter.com/jasona) – I’m a total Twitter addict. As many talk about, it’s a great release for my off-the-top-of-my-head ramblings.
- LinkedIn (http://www.linkedin.com/in/jasonlalexander) – I’m not convinced that LinkedIn is a great resource for me, but it’s good at least to stay connected with a network of people that I’ve worked with in the past and current.
- Facebook (http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1522380057) – Facebook is neat. Not sure I really love it, but everyone seems to use it. And, it’s good to see what and how they’re doing things.
More to come later…
